World Day Against Child Labour

World Day Against Child Labour : Childhood, the most beautiful moment of human life, neither worry about anything nor any responsibility. Just being lost in your head all the time, playing and reading. But it is not necessary for everyone to have such a childhood. You will be well aware of the problem of child labor. Any child who is under 14 years of age and works for a living is called a child laborer. Due to poverty, helplessness and harassment of parents, these children continue to sink into this morass of child labor.

                                                World Day Against Child Labour

Today there are 215 million children worldwide who are under 14 years of age. And these children spend their time not in school between copy-books and friends, but in hotels, homes, industries, utensils, brooms and tools. This situation has become very frightening in India. India has the largest number of child laborers in the world. According to the 1991 census, the number of child laborers was 11.3 million. The figure rose to 12.7 million in 2001.Along with the big cities, you will find many Raju-Munni-Chhotu-Chawni at every street corner in the small towns which have been caught in child labor due to the circumstances.

Reasons for child labor

1- As we are telling in every post related to child labor, the main reason of child labor or child labor is poverty. Due to poverty, parents are unable to teach their children and get them to do child labor.
2- Due to poverty and illiteracy, these people do not know about various information and schemes, due to which they can be easily exploited.
3- Due to drug habit and negligence, some parents send their children to do child labor in the greed to increase family income instead of sending them to school.
Poverty and illiteracy are increasing due to population growth, which is the main reason for child labor. Unemployment is also increasing due to population growth which adversely affects the prevention of child labor.
5- Child labor is increasing even if the laws made to stop child labor are not being followed properly, it can be curbed by making the laws related to child labor strictly followed by Balan strictly.
6- Under the temptation of cheap labor, some shopkeepers, factory owners etc. get the children to work, so that they have to pay less wages. In this way it is also the main reason for child labor.
Is also the major cause of child labor.
7- Illiteracy is also the main reason for child labor, because uneducated parents do not know about the impact of child labor on their children and get them to do child labor.
8- Socially and economically backwardness is also the main cause of child labor. Socially backward parents do not send their children to teach and get caught in the morass of child labor
9- In many families, there is no earner due to intoxication, disease or disability, there child welfare is the only basis for the maintenance of the family, which is the main reason of child labor.

And this is not only limited to child labor, children also have to face many abominations. Which has a profound effect on the innocent mind of children. Many NGOs are trying to destroy this evil in society. According to these NGOs, 50.2 percent are children who work seven days a week. 53.22 percent are victims of sexual harassment. Each of these other children is being emotionally tortured in some way. 50 percent of the children are suffering from physical abuse. To improve this situation of child laborers, the Government enacted the Child Labor Act in 1986 under which child labor was considered a crime and raised the minimum age of employment to 14 years. With this, the government has taken steps to eliminate child labor in the form of National Child Labor Project. The aim of this project is to save children from this crisis. In January 2005, the National Child Labor Project Scheme was extended to 250 districts in 21 different Indian states.Today the government has made education up to eighth compulsory and free, but in the face of poverty and helplessness of the people, this plan also seems to be fruitless. The parents of the children do not send them to school simply because their school going will reduce the family income. It is believed that today 60 million children are victims of child labor, if these figures are true then the government will have to open its eyes. This horrors of statistics can stigma our future. The main reason for such a high number of child laborers in India is poverty alone and only. Here on one side there is a group of children who enjoy 56 indulgences in big expensive hotels and on the other side there is a group of children who are poor, orphans, who do not even have enough food to eat. They make their living with the help of others. When these children want to earn bread for two times, then they are not given work in many places by citing child laborers. After all, what do these children do, where do they go so that their problem can be resolved. The government has enacted laws against child labor. Declared it a crime but did these children ever get seriously taken care of? To eliminate child labor, it is necessary to eliminate poverty. Providing two time meals for these children. For this, the government will have to take some concrete steps. It is necessary not only the government but also the general public to participate in it. If every person who is financially capable takes the responsibility of such a child too, then the whole scenario will change.

Don't you think that you can prevent gentle childhood from going into the trough like this? Time has come for the safe future of the country that you must take this responsibility now. Will you take responsibility for one such innocent? The World Day Against Child Labour, which is held every year on June 12, is intended to foster the worldwide movement against child labour in any of its forms.
